Clyde Leslie “Les” Smith founded Rid-A-Pest in 1972 in the garage behind his Wilson, NC, home after becoming one of North Carolina State University’s (NCSU) first graduates the university’s Urban and Industrial Pest Control program. As the son of a world-renowned entomologist and head of NCSU’s Entomology Department, Les knew he wanted to pursue a career related to insects and management. Two of Les’s sons Jamie and Lee now own and operate Rid A Pest after purchasing the family business in 2013. Lee and Jamie maintain the core values of quality service, fair prices, and trust at Rid-A-Pest today.
As a third-generation company of entomologists, Rid A Pest has extensive knowledge of the insects that plague our residential and commercial pest control clients in Wilson, Greenville, Morehead City, New Bern, Raleigh, and all surrounding areas.
